Description of Absolutely Online program from Softdepia.com:
I use a nice local ISP (Internet Service Provider) to connect to thr Internet from home, but they configured their modems to drop the line after about five to ten minutes of inactivity. Sometimes when I'm thinking about how to reply to a user, or while reading an interesting article on the WEB, or simply when I'm getting something to drink, my ISP drops the line and I have to reconnect again.
Many people known how annoying this is.
Absolutely On-line periodically polls the line (about one time a minute, but you can adjust the settings to any specific time interval) performing the minimum activity required to avoid the line being dropped by your ISP.
While developing it I added also two simple functions, the first to automatically dial and connect to your RAS ISP (optionally remembering your password for you); the second to set the system clock using your favorite Internet time server.
The latest addition to this utility it's the "Auto-Reply" feature that lets you configure Absolutely Online to automatically clicking on those annoying popup windows used by many client-based ISP (i.e. AOL, CompuServe, NetZero, etc.)
Absolutely Online is a "Free to try" program. You can download and try it for an evaluation period.
