Accent Excel Password Recovery is a small but very powerful tool. It can recover lost passwords for any document created and protected by Microsoft® Excel 97/2000/XP. Its easy-to-use graphic interface and context help are provided to lead you through each session so you quickly become familiar with all options and functions. In addition, a Quick Start page steps you through standard solutions with understandable and useful descriptions.
Password recovery for a document created by Microsoft® Excel 97/2000/XP usually takes some time due to the specifics of its protection algorithm. This program lets you use three different search methods (also called attack methods):
? Dictionary Attack ? items from a dictionary of common words, phrases, numbers, names, quotes are used to attempt to guess the password. The dictionary in this case is just a text file. This attack works well if the password is a common word or name.
? Brute- Force Attack ? a password is searched for by using all possible character combinations. This method is guaranteed to find a password but it takes a considerable amount of time.
? Brute-Force With Mask Attack ? a modified and considerably faster Brute Force Attack.

The current version of Accent Excel Password Recovery does not support the recovery of a password for saving changes to the document. It also doesn't support Microsoft® Excel 6.0/95 documents.
Accent Excel Password Recovery is distributed as shareware. The unregistered version has only one limitation: the maximum length of a recovered password is 4 characters.
