Description of ASHE - A Scripted Hex Editor program from Softdepia.com:
ASHE is a tool to help analyze binary data files. It allows the user to locate and modify data in a file quickly and easily. Once the structure of a file has been identified, routine changes to the file can be scripted using the integrated scripting engine. The scripting interface is intuitive and, while it may prove helpful, programming experience is not a requirement to use scripting. The scripting interface has several features not usually found outside a full blown language IDE; a trace debugger, with single stepping, watches, variable examination, syntax highlighting and a script output pane so that your scripts can write to an output window using the PRINT statement. This makes writing and debugging your scripts a breeze. There are a wide range of possible uses for ASHE's scripting ability, including file validation, verification, automated correction or modification.
ASHE has an intuitive user interface, and is easy to use. Even if you have never hex edited a file, with ASHE you will be examining raw data and recognizing, then mapping, the structure of data files in no time. Even if you choose not to use the scripting ability, ASHE is a complete data analysis and modification tool. Note: The scripting engine used in ASHE is available separately from Grand River Software, LLC as the Xlang10 Scripting library.
ASHE - A Scripted Hex Editor is a "Free to try" program. You can download and try it for an evaluation period.
