Description of Batch Rename program from Softdepia.com:
Rename a group of files to a common base name with an automatic numeric suffix (e.g. file_01.txt, file_02.txt, file_03.txt etc..). Features "Smart Select" and "Smart Add" to automatically choose a numbered range of files based on a file name prefix and put them in the correct order (sorted numerically, not textually e.g. file_8.jpg file_9.jpg file_10.jpg will be ordered 8,9,10 NOT 10,8,9 as with textual sort ordering).
Batch Rename is a "Free to try" program. You can download and try it for an evaluation period.
