FillDisk is a full-featured disk boundary test tool. While there are other disk boundary tools available, FillDisk provides the flexibility and precision needed for the best testing accuracy. Boundary checking is an important part of testing a product. An increment of as little as 1 byte of disk space can mean the difference between whether a product will install or execute as documented. If error checking is incorrect in a product, FillDisk can help find the bug and determine what the boundaries should be, so that the bug will get fixed. FillDisk allows precise fill values to be entered in as gigabytes, megabytes, kilobytes, or bytes. Pressing the fill button immediately creates a file that matches the amount of space entered. A pie chart is displayed to compare the amount of free space to used space and FillDisk reserved space. FillDisk has network support, so servers can be filled as well as local hard drives. Setting all space measurements to zero reset the hard drive space used to the original size. Because FillDisk is actually only reserving the hard drive space using API calls, and not writing out files, filling a hard drive is lightning fast.
