Description of GL III program from Softdepia.com:
Tired of trying to figure out how to work around "features" in the heavily advertised microcomputer accounting packages? If you have a small professional office and are comfortable with double-entry bookkeeping you can save a lot of time and frustration by using a simple general ledger like General Ledger III (GL III). GL III's only extra "features" are specialized registers for checks, petty cash, a company credit card and sales. The specialized journals speed up data entry, but each voucher you enter is simply a debit or series of debits plus a balancing credit or series of credits. Editing already entered transactions is a snap. GL III is a follow-on to two earlier, shareware general ledgers widely distributed by Peak InfoSystems. The first was written for the TRS-80 in FORTRAN. The second was writte for Unix and DOS in C, and later re-written in C++.
GL III is a "Free to try" program. You can download and try it for an evaluation period.
