Features No need for separate jigsaw files. You can turn any Bitmap (*.bmp) or JPEG (*.jpg,*.jpeg) file into a jigsaw. With Auto Properties turned on, this is done automatically whithout you having to specify anything but the image file name. Before turning an image into a jigsaw, you can scale it. Make it larger for more or bigger pieces, or make it smaller for less pieces or to make the image fit on the screen. You can choose any number of pieces up to several thousands. You can choose from four piece shape families: square, hourglass shaped, classical jigsaw, modern jigsaw. Jigsaw shape pieces are realistic, not silly squares with circles attached. They come in large variations, so with Jig3000 you won't easily find two pieces that have exactly the same shape.
You can create jigsaws with or without rotated pieces.
You can create jigsaws with jagged edges, where the edge pieces are not straight but have the same shape as the interior pieces.
You have five pages to store pieces or to work on the puzzle. All pages are equivalent, so you can show any page in any window. For your convenience, you can give each page a meaningful name.
Zoom function in each window. Zoom in 2x or 4x to see more detail, or zoom out 2x or 4x to have an overview of a larger area.
Image preview thumbnail window, smoothly resizeable in the correct aspect ratio. The preview window has a magnifying glass, showing a part of the image in real size regardless of the actual size of the preview window.
Intelligent background colour computation: automatically find a colour that gives a good contrast and harmonizes well with the piece imagery, or find an extremely contrasting colour.
Cheats are available when you're stuck. Rotate one piece or all pieces on a page in the correct orientation to solve the jigsaw. Find two pieces that fit together, or find a piece that fits to a selected piece.
Save your game and continue playing it later. The "boss key" will close all windows and save the game automatically.
