Mimic Mirroring Utility allows you to schedule your backups at predefined intervals or scheduled times throughout the day. Instead of backing up your important data files to tape, why not use disk, the media is usually quicker, cheaper, and easier to restore.
How does it work? Mimic backs up your data to any auxiliary drive such as Secondary Drives, Zip Drives, Network Drives, even Floppy Drives... Any drive that can be directly accessed by your system. You select the files and/or folders you want to backup, let Mimic know how often you want it backed up, and it takes care of the rest!
Mirroring drives is a common technique in networking. Normally this is performed by costly software and hardware that actually "Mirrors" drives. There are advantages to this and for big network servers, this is the way to go. However, if your servers and/or workstations are not equipped with expensive SCSI adapters and drives (not to mention the expensive software) give Mimic a try. Don't get caught without a current backup of your important files... Mimic... Backups made easy!
Mimic also offeres many new enhancements over previous versions. Now you can select parameters for each folder or even file if you wish. You can also backup to MULTIPLE drives in ONE PASS!
