All Solid Edge files (part, sheet metal, assembly, etc.) have a set of "part properties" that can be modified by the user. The main reason for entering part properties into your Solid Edge files is to automate draft creation. The Solid Edge Parts List generator draws its information from file part properties. Likewise, using features debuting in version 9 of Solid Edge, you can automate your title blocks in the same way. While Solid Edge comes preconfigured with several categories of part properties, you can add your own "custom properties" to fill your own special needs (e.g. add "Units Of Measure" or "Manufacturer's ID") .
PropSheet is meant to be run from inside Solid Edge Assembly environment to help with the assignment of part properties. By presenting part properties in a spreadsheet format, property assignment is made easier since you can take advantage of cut-and-paste functionality. Features like the built-in part viewer make part identification much easier for large assemblies. PropSheet also allows you to configure the spreadsheet in whatever way best suits your work methods. You can set up which properties are displayed and in what order (by column).
In addition to standard and custom part properties, PropSheet lets you display (and set) part densities. If you've ever tried to get the mass of a large assembly, you're probably aware of why this is such a useful feature. Forgetting to set an appropriate density for just one of the parts in a large assembly could mean large amounts of wasted time searching for that one rogue part. By displaying all part densities in PropSheet, you'll instantly know where the problem is.
Redesigned to be faster, PropSheet also adds several very handy features and a much-improved user-interface. Now it's possible to add/edit custom file properties as well as part density. No longer will you be forced to search through several dozen files for that one part keeping the assembly mass from calculating properly! It's easy to show only the property columns you want, and in whatever order you desire. This shareware version will run for 30 days -- after the demo period you must register the program if you wish to continue using it.
