Description of ResourceExplorer program from Softdepia.com:
The purpose of the program is clear from its name.
The main purpose of the program is to extract different kinds ( ICON, BITMAP, STRING, RCDATA etc.) of resources from executable modules.
Historically the program appeared together with Delphi 1, but it got its real second life when Delphi 3, 4 run-time packages appeared.
PROGRAM FEATURES
as it was mentioned above, the main purpose of the program is to explore program modules created with Delphi (exe, dll, bpl, dpl files);
view module information
view imported and exported symbols of the DLL
Register and unregister packages;
view BITMAP, ICON, CURSOR, VERSION, STRING, RCDATA resources with correct viewers, determined automatically.
For example, BITMAP resource can be viewed as dump or as image. The view mode for the resource can be selected from the View system menu;
save resources as file (bmp, dfm, etc.) or as RC-file
copy to clipboard is possible. Now you can easily "pull out" the object you like from the module (Ctrl+Ins)
scale BMP images ("+", "-")
text representation of Delphi-forms + Syntax Highlight + components tree with automatical navigation through the text;
view Delphi-resources (RCDATA) as a Screen Form (F12)
view "half-dead" forms (run-time-like view);
change forms behavior ("dead", "live") on the fly. Form representation mode is set from the system menu
(click on the window icon, press Alt+Space, right click on the title) of the form;
Object Inspector for forms is available (hotkey F11). Ctrl+Click to select an object
