VolgaDB Engine 4.0 is a small and fast single-user engine for working with flat files in own Volga format or client-server multi-user engine for working with MS SQL or MS Access databases over a local-area network or even over the Internet without using BDE, MIDAS, MTS, DCOM, CORBA, etc. Component package consists of TVolgaTable, TVolgaQuery, TVolgaServQuery, TVolgaDatabase for Delphi (4,5,6) and C++Builder (4,5,6) and VolgaDB Desktop utility for managing Volga files. It works with any DB-aware controls.
All necessary code is included in your application without additional DLLs. Distribution of your applications will be very simple - only copy exe and data files into any folder and it works! No any registry settings! It is ideally satisfies the requirements for read only databases placed at CD-ROM. You can write a powerful database application which can be entirely placed in one diskette!
You can select one of editions for your needs:
freeware Lite edition - only table access (TVolgaTable) to flat files
Professional edition - TVolgaTable with additional capabilities and TVolgaQuery for execute SQL queries, working with flat files
Enterprise edition - consists of client-side components and dlls for direct connect to server database (MS SQL or MS Access). Another model - multi-tier, with remote VolgaDB server using TCP/IP. Please read client-server guide.
